Cubic Receives European Patent for Medical Ultrasonic Gas Sensor
Cubic, an international manufacturer of advanced gas sensors and gas analyzers, is thrilled to announce the approval by European Patent Office (EPO) of a patent (EP 4083618) for its innovative V-shaped ultrasonic gas measurement technology behind Cubic ultrasonic gas sensors, including Gasboard-8500V-RH. The patented technology was developed to address the medical and healthcare industry's need for advanced measurement solutions that enhance the performance and reliability of critical healthcare equipment. As a significant milestone in Cubic's intellectual property strategy, the patent extends across multiple European countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Britain, and Hungary, among others, providing broad protection for Cubic's innovation in key European markets.
Building upon years of research and development, Cubic’s newly patented technology delivers a breakthrough in ultrasonic gas measurement technology for medical applications. The innovative V-shaped gas sensor features an advanced ultrasonic transmission design that enables efficient gas detection, thereby enhancing measurement accuracy. With a specially designed structure at the sensor mounting base, Cubic ultrasonic gas sensors achieve efficient gas flow dynamics and fast response times. Furthermore, incorporating integrated temperature compensating system, Cubic ultrasonic gas sensors deliver consistent, high-precision measurements across diverse operating conditions.
As a significant advancement in gas sensing technology, Cubic V-shaped design ultrasonic gas sensor overcomes several limitations inherent in electrochemical sensors and conventional ultrasonic sensors. While electrochemical sensors require regular calibration and replacement due to chemical degradation, Cubic patented ultrasonic gas sensor provides long-term stability without drift. Moreover, compared to conventional ultrasonic sensors that require complex setups, the new design of Cubic ultrasonic gas sensor eliminates the need for additional measurement sections and connection tubing. Consequently, Cubic ultrasonic gas sensors can be directly mounted into standard sensor bases, which not only simplifies installation and maintenance for medical equipment manufacturers and technicians but also maintains high measurement accuracy.
With the patented ultrasonic gas sensing technology as a foundation, Cubic strengthens its presence in the European medical device market by developing specialized gas measurement solutions for critical medical equipment including ventilators, oxygen concentrators and anesthesia machines, enabling manufacturers to integrate reliable and precise gas measurement capabilities into next-generation medical and healthcare equipment.
